Jason Tester

Jason Tester is a strategic futurist and speculative designer whose work explores the human consequences of political, technological and social transformation. For more than two decades, he has used visual and immersive storytelling to make future possibilities more understandable and resonant for numerous companies, nonprofit organizations, and governments around the world. A former research director at the Institute for the Future in Palo Alto, Jason is a leading figure in the field of speculative design and a fierce advocate for democratizing futurism, including pioneering work on queer futures and LGBTQ+ foresight. Based in San Francisco for more than two decades, his work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, and on MSNBC and CNN. Jason holds degrees in Human-Computer Interaction from Stanford University and Interaction Design from the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea, Italy.
